Round Rock Boys Sweep Legacy Ranch XC Meet

The Round Rock Dragons opened the 2026 cross country season with an impressive performance at the Legacy Hill Friday Night Lights XC Meet at Legacy Ranch High School on August 14, capturing championships in both the Varsity and JV Boys 2-mile races.

The Varsity Boys dominated the front of the field, placing five runners among the first 12 finishers and scoring just 37 points. Senior Devansh Garg led the Dragons with a runner-up finish in 10:28.24. He was followed by Anthony Dumpit, 6th in 10:45.42; Henry Lynn, 8th in 10:48.70; Cameron Pav, 9th in 10:51.82; and Jackson Sanchez, 12th in 10:53.69. Gavin Shalem added another strong performance, finishing 13th in 10:56.68. Round Rock placed six runners in the top 13, demonstrating excellent early-season depth.

The JV Boys were even more dominant, recording a perfect 15-point team score by sweeping the first five places. Aryan Vavadiya won the JV race in 11:17.64, followed by David House in 11:20.36, Miles McDonald in 11:25.39, Oliver Veselic in 11:40.00 and Noah Hill in 11:45.29. Round Rock actually claimed the first eight JV positions, with Ryan McGowan, Jayden Gomez and Ishan Ved completing the sweep.

The meet provided an outstanding start to the season for the Dragons. With both the varsity and JV squads showing tremendous depth, Round Rock left Legacy Ranch with two team championships and a strong foundation for the championship season ahead.
