Eric Woods

Coach Eric Woods brings over a decade of coaching and teaching experience to the Round Rock High School girls basketball program. He has served in a variety of leadership roles, including three years as the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Bastrop High School, three years as the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at Marshall High School, and three years as an Assistant Coach at Hillsboro High School. His diverse background across both boys’ and girls’ programs has helped him develop a well-rounded perspective on player development and team building.

As a former collegiate athlete, Coach Woods competed at both Louisiana Tech University and Northwestern State University, experiences that instilled in him a deep respect for the game and the discipline it requires. He now passes on those lessons to his players, guiding them with a coaching philosophy rooted in servant leadership, teamwork, and trust. His daily emphasis on the core values of sacrifice, accountability, unity, commitment, and energy helps prepare athletes not only for success on the court but also for challenges beyond it.

Outside of basketball, Coach Woods has been dedicated to serving students as a special education teacher for the past 10 years. He is passionate about shaping the next generation both in the classroom and on the court, always striving to lead with purpose and compassion.

Coach Woods and his wife, Antse, have been married for seven years and are proud parents to three children: Kailyn (22), Emmanuel (6), and Azana (toddler). In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, and listening to a wide variety of podcasts.
